P&C NEWS July 2024
You've probably heard the sound of fireworks on the Fourth of July, but this year that sound took on a much darker meaning for one Cincinnati family. When 45-year-old Christian Pearson headed out to celebrate the holiday in the Over-the- Rhine neighborhood, he never could have imagined he wouldn't return home. Tragically, Christian's life was cut short by a bullet on that fateful Independence Day. At 5:49 p.m., Christian was found mortally wounded on Walnut Street. Rushed to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. As we reflect on the true meaning of freedom this Fourth of July, let us also remember those whose lives have been lost to senseless gun violence. Christian's loved ones will feel the pain of his absence at every future holiday and family gathering. While we cannot bring him back, we can honor his memory by working to make our communities safer.
